mySupermarket has analysed the 500 most popular Health, Beauty and Baby products and at any given time nearly half are on promotion, often at 35% to 50% discount, but on average Brits spend 96% more buying products not on promotion. Why? Because shoppers have no way of knowing when a product is on a real promotion, or at what store.
Because mySupermarket is the only online grocery shopping store dedicated to helping customers save more not spend more, they have now given shoppers the means to compare Health & Beauty across the big supermarkets and Boots and Superdrug for the first time ever.
Using the unique ability to compare products across retailers, highlight the best deals and use special promotional shelves, shoppers will be able to buy most of the products they want on promotion. It’s the ultimate one stop shop.
mySupermarket has created two new great features to enable you to shop for these best deals: 1. Hot Deals shelves: mySupermarket can pinpoint when and where a favourite brand is on a fantastic deal, and how long this deal is going to last. In order to highlight these best offers mySupermarket has created special shelves highlighting the ‘current hottest deals’, the big discounts that are not around for long, that you should bulk buy whilst you can
Here are just a few examples of price gaps on popular brands: *Nivea Shower Gel Sensitive Balance (250ml): During last 12 months was sold as high as £2.00, and as low as 72p - a 64% discount . *Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor: During last 12 months was sold at £3.00 in one store and £9.99 in others- a 70% discount! *Olay Anti-Wrinkle Daily Moisture Fluid SPF 15 (100ml): During last 12 months was sold as high as £10.61 and as low as £4.00. A 62% difference!
James Foord, spokesperson for shopping site mySupermarket said: “We know the huge amounts consumers spend on health and beauty products. In fact on average British women spend over £133,500 on health and beauty products over their lifetime**, so we knew we had to help them save. The different retailers run lots of promotions on these products. We were staggered to discover that at any given time nearly half are on promotion, often at 35% to 50% discount. But on average Brits spend 96% more buying products not on promotion – which just won’t do.
“The trouble is that it’s almost impossible for the consumer to know when and where to get the best deals, or when something is rarely on offer so needing to buy it whilst they can. “In order to provide consumers with a convenient solution we knew we had to bring them the same complete transparency we had pioneered for their groceries shopping – so we designed the first ever one-stop Health & Beauty store. Not only can customers find the best deals across the supermarkets but Boots and Superdrug as well. “It’s another major step for us in our vision to help as many consumers as possible save more not spend more”. |
