This book spirals you into a world of a young girl whose father has recently passed away from a suicide attempt. With hard hitting grief that doesn’t sugar coat and endless humour you will both cry and laugh right along with the sassy main character.

The genre itself is mystery, although the first few chapters are slow to start and would lead you to believe that it is a drama. However once you have read through the first half of the book you will be grateful that you did. The plot thickens slowly and the pace begins to settle superbly bringing with it suspense and a yearning to want to know more.

Character development leaves much to be desired but is made up for by the fact that you feel as if you have entered the story half way through where most of the development has already begun. The author is truly amazing with description of personalities, along with in depth speech that never strays from the sense of who the character is and was from the start. Every character, whether villain, hero, or neutral, is lovable in their own way.

Cecelia Ahern has a way of mixing fantasy with reality leaving you feeling as if anything is possible. The writing style itself mirrors this sense of reality with a gritty exposure of emotions and plenty of metaphors that can be applied to any walks of life.

Book of Tomorrow really is an eye opener that will send shivers through your spine with its twists and turns through the life of a heartbroken teenage girl.
