Welsh coastline tops romance map for leap year proposal locations

-       Wembley stadium beats Silverstone racetrack for men’s dream proposal locations

As Valentine’s Day approaches and couples across the UK prepare for candle-lit meals and perhaps even marriage proposals, a new poll has revealed the nation’s top romantic locations, with beaches on the Welsh coastline being chosen over Stonehenge and the London Eye.

The poll, conducted by pchprizes.co.uk, the UK’s first free to enter prize draw website, revealed that nearly a quarter (24%) of those surveyed voted the secluded beaches in Wales as the perfect leap year proposal spot.

Chino Latino - Albert Embankment (Vauxhall tube)

My guest and I were dazzled by the beautiful setting of this restaurant, right on the Thames overlooking the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.  The Park Plaza hotel itself has a stylish Latin Bar within the reception area - elegant and vibrant with a relaxed seating area.  This is the "Latino" part of the offering - hip mojito's all round!  A perfect place to relax before or after dinner.

Once guided to our table through the Asian influenced restaurant we could see low rise seating and tables as well as a more traditional "western" seating option.  All in elegant dark black leather, complimented with silver.  Everything looked immaculate and precise - the staff clearly care greatly about presentation.

London City Break Guide;

Perfect for Christmas shopping, anniversaries, theatre breaks, spa weekends and romantic trips.  Anyone of any age can enjoy London - but here are some top tips to get the best out of your trip;

  • Never underestimate the benefit of not having to get on and off a tube.  If you can get your accommodation as close to your activities as possible it will save you time, money and a lot of stress.  Tubes are for commuters - they are neither pleasant, friendly, clean nor enjoyable.

  • Take the bus.  Not a tour bus but a regular, run of the mill bus if you are planning a short trip.  I took the bus from Oxford Circus to Covent Garden - it took 10 mins, I was "with case" and didn't have to lug it up and down tube stairs, changing at Holborn to get to Covent Garden. The bus was empty, quick enough, easy to get on and off and a great way to view the city.
