A Taste of the 21st Century Orient – Marks and Spencer Style

By  |  0 Comments

Marks and Spencer are excited about their mouth watering oriental dishes launched this week in 500 stores nationwide. Their Modern Asian range takes inspiration from countries such as Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, and Vietman.

Expect to find old favourites such as dim sum, pad thai, curry, and bento to tickle the taste buds and satisfy the tummy. Meats include chicken and pork, accompanied by noodles to wild exotic rices. This range is aimed at everyone from the upwardly mobile to homemakers who fancy a change of chef. All dishes are attractively packaged in easy green wrap, and are further promoted with a takeaway style leaflet.

Tastes are authentic too. Despite the large size packaging of some of the range, we found none of the dishes overfilling. Prices are reasonable too meaning that eating oriental every night of the week won’t dent your pocket too much. Dishes range from £1.99 upwards with the oriental inspired sauces starting at just 99p.

Our favourite? The Prawn and Mangetout Gyoza consisting of delicate rice encased pastries with spicy filling. The lime and ponzu dip kept the mouth moist and complemented the prawn well.

So hurry to your nearest Marks and Spencer – this week!
