Black Tower is the no 1 quality German wine at an affordable price. In the last 12 months over 14 million bottles have been sold worldwide – a new record for the brand that surpassed their pre-recession goal of 12 million bottles (1 million cases) in sales.

In 2010 the trademark black bottle was transformed through new branding and a dazzling image. Here we saw the iconic split bottle design cemented along with exciting new products such as Pink Bubbly, a lightly sparkling rosé, red varietals, and B by Black Tower, which is a range of low alcohol wines at 5.5% abv. Although lighter in body these wines do not skimp on taste. Calorie-wise you’d be doing yourself a favour at just 55 calories per 125ml glass. The new bottle design and the recent two range extensions have been key drivers in increasing sales.

Since their heyday in the 70’s and 80’s, changes in the market and consumer taste meant the following years were increasingly challenging.

Rebranding has been aimed at capturing a wider female audience and young males, and coupled with strong marketing and promotional support their new and old customers appreciate Black Tower’s consistency in wine quality. Nik Schritz, Reh Kendermann’s* Managing Director, said, “Reaching sales of over 14 million bottles reflects the true strength of Black Tower as a great global brand.”

Recently Black Tower are collaborating with winemakers from the New World and Eastern European countries, further increasing their exciting range.
