Loubissou Organic 2024, Languedoc Cabrières AOP – France, 12% abv
https://www.laithwaites.co.uk/product/loubissou-organic-2024/4355924
This is a rich hued, pink rosé, deeper than blush, from the valleys of Corbières. The nose holds floral notes that give way to a rose petal and apricot palate. A hint of minerals lingers on a medium finish. We found a creamy aftertaste in the mouth. So for those favouring rosés (such as the author!) this wine is worth investigating, this is an .
Il Brutto Negroamaro Primitivo 2023, Puglia, IGP, Italy, 14.5% abv
https://www.laithwaites.co.uk/product/il-brutto-negroamaro-primitivo-2023/2045623
In Puglia, the sun-scorched soils support Negroamaro and Primitivo grapes, which produce wines with a rich and soft palate. Expect a nose of mild damson, with lots of intense stone fruit on the palate. The finish is tart and short. Offset this weighty wine with rich red meat, or meat pastas with strongly flavoured sauces. Currently on offer.

From Aldi
Specially Selected Baron Amarillo Spanish Rosé 2024, France, 12.5% abv
This seasonal tipple boasts a pale salmon pink rosé deeper that is exceptionally dry on the palette. With hints of raspberry, pear apple and strawberry that follows a pink fruit nose. Pleasant enough, we would recommend drinking on its own to appreciate the delicate build.
Specially Selected Moldovan Rară Neagră 2021, Moldova, 13.5% abv
A complex offering made from 85% Rară Neagră grapes tempered with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine bursts with dark red and plum fruits on the nose and palate, followed by uplifting citrus notes, leading to a fruity, tannin finish. Whew! Pair this full bodied wine with strongly flavoured cheeses, and roasted red meat dishes. Currently on offer in store.
Please drink responsibly in the run up to the festive season.
