Meet the Celebrity Stylist Bringing a Little Glamour to Wimbledon’s Famous Queue
Wimbledon is known for strawberries and cream, crisp white outfits and, of course, the queue. But this year, fans waiting patiently for Centre Court were treated to something a little different – a fresh new haircut.
Del Monte swapped fresh fruit for fresh cuts, teaming up with London celebrity stylist Tobias Bell, known as That Hair Guy to his followers, to surprise queue-goers with complimentary tennis-inspired transformations. With more than one million social media followers and a client list packed with famous faces, Bell brought his signature creativity to one of Britain’s best-loved summer traditions.
From Pat Cash’s feathered mullet and Anna Kournikova’s signature plait to Björn Borg’s flowing locks and playful tennis ball buzz cuts, fans embraced the chance to channel some of tennis’s most memorable hairstyles before heading into the Championships.

“Tennis has produced some of the most recognisable hairstyles in sport, and it’s been brilliant to partner with Del Monte to bring them back to life for fans joining the queue on opening day,” Bell said.
The feel-good makeover proved a hit with fans, and perhaps that’s no surprise. New research found almost one in five Brits (20%) would happily change their hairstyle for the chance to attend Wimbledon, while 78% would queue for up to 12 hours to secure one of the hottest tickets in sport.
The survey also crowned Björn Borg’s flowing locks Britain’s most iconic tennis hairstyle, ahead of John McEnroe’s trademark curls, Serena Williams’ gem-adorned looks, Roger Federer’s ponytail and Pat Cash’s feathered mullet.

Thierry Montange, Marketing Director UK at Del Monte, said: “At Del Monte, freshness is at the heart of everything we do, so bringing ‘Fresh Cuts’ to tennis fans felt like the perfect way to put a playful twist on one of the country’s most iconic summer traditions.”
Whether it was a nostalgic nod to a tennis legend or a bold new buzz cut, Tobias’ courtside creations proved that sometimes the best Wimbledon memories are made long before the first serve.
