Scrubs in tubs? Not in my shower….

By  |  0 Comments

Scrubs in tubs.  They look pretty in their nice metal clipped containers on the shelf in your bathroom but they are generally hopeless in a shower environment.  The moment you take the lid off – water gets into the tub, you have to scoop it out with your fingers and because they are often oil and sugar/salt based….they make an awful mess!

We are huge fans of scrubs in squeezy tubes.  They can be stood upright in your shower rack, don’t leak or cause mess and when using the shower, don’t get filled up with water!  We think they are brilliantly practical and come in a fabulous range of yummy goodness.  Here’s some of our favourites!

Elemis Devil’s Mint and Tranquil Touch

 Elemis sp@home

Elemis, kings of the home spa product have two beautiful shower suitable scrubs.  Our first favourite is the minty fresh Devil’s Mint Body Scrub – absolutely perfect after a gym workout or to pep yourself up in the morning! Peppermint essential oils twinned with devils apron seaweed will leave skin silky soft and tingling all over 🙂

We also love the Tranquil Touch (£20) rice based exfoliator for a more pampering experience – use weekly as part of a luxurious  spa routine for soft, smooth skin.  Infused with patchouli, mandarin and ginger it’s heavenly on the olifactory senses!

Good Things scrubs

 Good Things

This range has been developed by Alice Hart-Davis who is an award winning beauty writer.  She aimed the product range at young skin, although due to the fact it is chock full of super-ingredient such as acai, blueberry, goji berry, pomegranate and papaya extract it is absolutely fantastic for any age.

We love these two scrubs – they both smell amazing and are thick and nourishing.    The Ultra Rich Creamy Scrub contains pomegranate, red grape and cranberry and it smells very juicy! £4.99 for 200ml

Or you could choose the Soothing Exfoliating Scrub with its Kiwi and papaya and cranberry seeds and delicate passionfruit and peach scent!  Who needs anything yummier in their shower?

Champneys Watemint Scrub and Fake Bake Body Polish

Available from Boots, Superdrug and Sainsburys.

Champneys Watermint scrub is another mintyfresh invigorating product  with 3 delicious mints – watermint, peppermint and wildmint using the best treatments from their health Spa heritage.

Fake Bake Body Polish

Ever since having a fake bake tanning treatment and being buffed with their amazing body polish (£12.50) this has been on my top scrubs list.  Tiny microbeads allow for great buffing abilities and less sensitive skin afterwards and the tropical passion fruit extract is yummy!

Dirty Works Body Scrub

 Dirty Works

Finally, Dirty Works Body Scrub (£2.66) is ideal for those who don’t like a heavily scented fragrance in their products.  This scrub mainly concentrates on the ingredients – shea butter, vitamin E and sweet almond oil to nourish the skin.  Exclusive to Sainsburys!
