10 Amazing makeup brands worth investigating!

Unless you are a blogger, makeup artist or well informed beauty journalist it is unlikely you will have come across these brands as they are well hidden in places like Space NK, Selfridges and Harrods.  Some are available online and it’s really worth checking out the ranges as those “in the know” rate these brands as being creme de la crop.  Anti-clockwise from bottom right.

1 – Kevyn Aucoin, late American makeup artist responsible for pioneering the “natural” look of the 1990’s.  Hero product “Sensual Skin Enhancer”.  His ethos was to bring timeless glamour, wordly beauty and exceptional tools to the hands of every woman. Rouge Bunny Rouge.  Cute name, cultish brand.  Founder and Creative Director, Alexandra de Montfort works to ensure each product is innovative, inspiring and enhances your natural beauty

Rococo – an amazing range of high fashion, professional finish nail varnishes in really beautiful packaging!   Also contains no formaldehyde, toluene and DBP.  Hero products are all the amazing colours!

Hourglass – made without parabens, phthalates, fragrances or animal testing but richly pigmented and luxurious makeup.  Hero products include the “Ambient Lighting Powder” in 6 luminescent shades, gives a soft focus to the skin.

Ellis Fas,  By Dutch makeup artist Ellis Fas – contains a wide range of very handy and portable makeup “pens” with either eyeshadow cream, skin veils, eyeliner or lipstick/gloss.  Their unique bullet shape allows them to be stored into her custom “tube” – one skin veil and 6 of the others of your choice plus a space for the powder.  It’s very cool – check it out

Ilia only make lipstick/lipcare and a few mascaras.  That’s it – nothing else!  Their products, are filled with up to 85% certified organic bio-active botanicals and come in the mist beautiful shades imaginable.  Subtle, sexy and luxurious – this is a brand that knows lipstick.  Available to buy from Net a Porter.

Make Up Atelier – professional cosmetics brand grown up out of stage and screen.  Hero product is Waterproof Liquid foundation in 24 shades.  If you need bullet proof makeup – this is where to come – check out their range online

Inglot – Polish brand of cosmetics – best known for their “make your own” Freedom palettes.  Choose a container size – 2, 4, 5 or even up to 20 squares and fill with the most delectable range of matt, pearl and sparkly eyeshadows – a better colour palette than Dulux!  They have a store in Westfield but are also present at the IMATS (International Makeup Artist Trade Show – open to the public)  If you are fed up of buying eyeshadow palettes and not using half the colours – Inglot is the brand for you!
