New research has discovered the most fashionable women in the music industry, with Taylor Swift taking the top spot.
Fashion experts at Boohoo analyzed the average number of US Google searches for style-related terms including ‘[artist] fashion’ and ‘[artist] style’ for 100 women in the music industry. The artists were ranked in order of whose style is searched for the most.
Taylor Swift takes the top spot, with 107,442 average monthly Google searches regarding her style. The 14-time Grammy winner is renowned for her fashion, with her recent Super Bowl outfit costing over $50,000, designed by Dion Lee. She paired this with a necklace with a number 87 pendant, a tribute to Travis Kelce’s jersey number. She is often photographed on the red carpet experimenting with different colors, textures and silhouettes, paired with her iconic red lip.
In second place is Stevie Nicks, with an average of 18,808 monthly Google searches for her outfits. Throughout her time with Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist, she has become a fashion icon. While she has evolved with the fashion trends through the years, especially in the 70s and 80s, she has always maintained a unique style. Widely influenced by the hippie subculture, she is known for mixed vintage patterns, flowy fabrics, flared sleeves and of course, her trademark platform boots.
Third on the list is R&B sensation Aaliyah, with an average of 15,601 monthly Google searches regarding her fashion. Baggy clothes were a staple in her wardrobe, often with bright colours and matching sets. From her crop tops to her iconic animal print Roberto Cavalli gown, her red carpet looks never failed to impress. Thirteen years after her tragic death, she is still renowned for her style. The fashion icon truly is One in a Million.

As we look forward to the release of Renaissance Act 2, Queen B’s outfits will continue to turn heads wherever she goes.
Lady Gaga is fifth, with an average of 11,298 monthly Google searches for her outfits. She is widely known for her unique and sometimes confusing sense of style, with her bold outfit choices often used to make a statement. She shocked the world when she attended the 2010 MTV Music Awards wearing a dress and headpiece made entirely of raw meat, which she later revealed was symbolic for women’s rights and the fact that she is “not a piece of meat.” In 2009, she wore a coat made entirely of stuffed Kermit the Frog toys, which was a condemnation of the fur industry. She truly has one of the most iconic and memorable styles in the world.
Next on the list is Melanie Martinez, with an average of 10,612 monthly Google searches regarding her fashion sense. She is heavily influenced by the pastel goth style, known for wearing a lot of lace, frills, bows and patterns, often pink. These outfits are always paired with her iconic split dyed hair, which she changes up to fit the occasion. Martinez has a baby-like style, which extends from her outfit choices to her everyday life; she revealed that her apartment looks like a baby nursery and released a perfume that comes in a baby bottle.
Seventh is Ariana Grande, with an average of 9,558 monthly searches for her outfits. Her fashion sense has evolved throughout the years, from her career on Nickelodeon to becoming one of the best-selling pop artists of today. She is often seen in oversized sweaters, miniskirts and high-heeled boots, which she pairs with her iconic high ponytail and winged eyeliner. She never fails to impress on the red carpet either, often wearing voluminous, eye-catching dresses.
In eighth place is Doja Cat, with an average of 8,494 monthly Google searches for her style. She is another artist who is known for her bold, unapologetic style. Some of her most memorable outfit choices include the chair hat she wore to the 2021 VMAs and the custom red gown she wore in 2023, paired with 30,000 red crystals that covered her head and body. Her fashion style is unique, much like the distinctive face paint she is often seen wearing.
Ninth is Rihanna, with 7,939 monthly searches for her outfits. She is a modern fashion icon and owner of the underwear brand Savage X Fenty. Day to day, she wears baggy jeans or tracksuits paired with stiletto heels. On the red carpet, she is often seen in big, statement dresses. Throughout her pregnancy, she continued to dress in her notoriously bold style, changing the way the world sees maternity fashion.
In tenth place is Lana Del Rey, with an average of 7,875 monthly searches for her style. Many of her outfits are inspired by the fashion of the 50s and the 60s, as well as Hollywood glam. From custom Gucci gowns to the $18 Shein dress she wore to the Variety Awards in 2021, she always remains true to her own personal style, wearing what she likes while radiating elegance.
A spokesperson from Boohoo has commented:
“While these women have completely different styles, they all have impeccable fashion sense. They not only have a keen eye for style, but also the confidence to carry their unique looks with grace. Of course, these iconic outfits wouldn’t be possible without their designers, with Taylor Swift working with everyone from Versace to Julien MacDonald. Their influence extends beyond the red carpet, inspiring fans to explore creativity and individuality in their looks.
“They show that fashion isn’t just about following trends, and that we should never be afraid of expressing ourselves through our clothes.”
