Bravura brings the latest in advanced skin treatment

Founded in 2003 by Amanda Elias, an experienced facial therapist – Bravura attempts to address skincare concerns with active ingredients that are proven to work.   As well as AHA’s and BHA’s Bravura use Hyaluronic Acid which is a naturally occurring substance that helps skin stay hydrated in addition to other natural goodies such as volcanic mud, seaweed extracts, chamomile, Aloe Vera, Vitamin C, Gotu Kola and cucumber.

Their main product focus is on skin peels – they were the first company to supply chemical peels for use at home and they offer three types of acid peels – glycolic, salicylic and lactic.    Glycolic acid is a naturally occurring fruit acid and salicylic acid is ideal for oily/congested skins and lactic acid is a little more gentle for skin more sensitive to the chemical peel.  Lactic acid peels may be an excellent trial run in the product range to see how your skin handles it.

In addition to the peeling products you can also buy items which contain a little of the acids but in a more skincare regime type format.  We tried;

Azulen Cleansing Milk – £8.39

A gentle, non foaming cleansing milk that dissolves impurities, excess oil, and make-up on contact. Azulen Cleansing Milk is recommended as a make-up removing lotion and a gentle, soap less cleanser for all skin types and especially for sensitive skin. It contains specially blended oils which effectively whisks away even the heaviest foundation.

Purifying Calendula Toner with 10% AHA/BHA

This light and fragrant liquid is perfect for removing the last smidges of makeup and toning up the pores.  Leaves skin feeling soft and super clean.  The low ph point helps to fight bacteria so it’s ideal for oily or combination skins.

Anti-oxidant Vitamin C Masque – £9.59

With China Clay and antioxidant vitamins – use this as a weekly treat for stressed skin as clay is great for refining pores and the anti-oxidants protect from free radical damage.  Vitamin C also has the ability to stimulate collagen production.
