Live the London life at base2stay Kensington

What I loved about this accommodation;

  • It’s in a lovely, safe area of London, I felt very safe walking home as solo female from the tube station at 11pm at night.  Quiet, affluent area but close enough to the tube.
  • There’s a brilliant selection of rooms incuding the very elusive Single room.  Adult bunks too if you want to keep your costs down with chums but want a high standard of accommodation.  Flexible family solutions are available, including bunk/double “suite” or large family room with sofa chairs/beds.
  • Extremely comfortable beds, linens and pillows as well as dark curtains. Very easy to get a good nights sleep.
  • Lovely big spacious bathrooms with huge shower cubicles, baths in the deluxe rooms.
  • A sense of “having your own place” – there’s a mini kitchen with crockery and cutlery – feel free to come and go as you please – whatever time you like and to bring in as much food as you want.  There’s plenty of in room catering – a number of the local restaurants stand in for the “room-service” function so you can still have a quiet meal in the room.

base2stay Kensington is the flagship venture of a unique hotel concept setting the trend for stylish, value-led accommodation.  The hotel is located in the fashionable areas of Kensington and Chelsea, with excellent public transport links to the main airports and railway stations from Earl’s Court underground station, which is just a few minutes walk away.

Many of London’s major attractions are close by, including The Royal Albert Hall, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, The Victoria & Albert Museum, Kensington Palace and Earls Court Exhibition Centre. World class shopping in Knightsbridge – the home of Harrods and Harvey Nichols – is only a short distance away.

With all the convenient facilities around Earls Court, this is the ideal location for base2stay’s unique concept of four-star comfort, design and service, without a bar or restaurant.  With a mini-kitchen in every room, vending machine at high street prices rather than expensive mini-bars, in-room on-screen directories to help guests shop or order in, and base2stay’s exclusive discounts at many surrounding restaurants, cafes and bars, the concept delivers fantastic value for visitors and encourages them to explore the city.  This means guests can decide where and how they want to spend their money, spreading the benefits throughout the local area, in keeping with base2stay’s ethos of social sustainability.

This stylish boutique hotel offers 67 air-conditioned hotel rooms with something for everyone – from Bijou Singles to Deluxe rooms that can sleep up to four. Room rates are per room not per number of guests, which offers even better value.

base2stay Kensington’s wide variety of room types all come with FREE Wi-Fi, LCD flat screen multi-channel TVs with FREE games, music and internet (for those without laptops), as well as movies at only £2.00 each. It offers London’s leisure and corporate visitors the ultimate in value-led, contemporary hotel accommodation, where you get all you need without having to pay for extras.

base2stay has been awarded VisitBritain’s 5 star Gold Award – the highest accolade in their Guest Accommodation Room Only category. As the first hotel in the UK to offer electric cars exclusively for guest’s use and a commitment that sees it recycle 80% of its waste, base2stay also holds the prestigious Gold Award under the Green Tourism Business Scheme. As a member of Green Hotels of the World, Hospitable Climates, iStayGreen and the Considerate Hoteliers Association, base2stay encompasses a concept which is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.

Robert Nadler, chief executive of base2stay, said: “We have a completely unique concept that sets us apart from what is currently on offer, not just in London, but across the UK.  “The concept has been so successful we have recently opened the second base2stay hotel in Liverpool’s Bohemian design and entertainment quarter, the RopeWalks, with further openings planned in 2012.”
