The Carluccio’s Italian Dining Experience

By  |  0 Comments

Carluccio’s restaurant is a nationwide enterprise serving authentic Italian cuisine. Located in a scenic square, the Al Fresco seating makes the St Christopher’s Place branch in London easy to spot. Internal décor is fresh and light, with a central bar area and two floors providing a full dining experience. Staff are attentive without being over bearing. Free wifi makes this venue great for working during breakfast, lunch or dinner. Souvenir aficionados can buy Puglian pasta, Sicilian olive oil and Calabrian capers in-branch. Private dining is also available on enquiry.

Simply Woman recently visited and enjoyed a mostly fish based, flavoursome menu. For accompaniment we recommend the Via Rovana Castellani Frascati because this gorgeous dry white becomes more pungent and intense when paired with fish dishes such as Carluccio’s Sardines Carpione (the dressing includes pine nuts, raisin and bay leaves), Branzino (sea bass on a bed of rocket, tomato and barley) or Lobster Spaghetti tossed in crab pieces, chilli and basil. We’d also recommend the Pasticcio di Cioccolata – succulent chocolate bread and butter pudding served with a tangy vanilla cream. Three courses without wine costs around £26 per head.

Caluccio’s Facts
In keeping with Italian tradition Caluccio’s serve their cappuccino and espresso in porcelain cups, which preserves the heat and crema. They also make ravioli on the premises every morning, and source many food ingredients direct from Italy.
