This light pink rosé is blended from Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec grapes and made by family-owned Marlborough Valley Wines whose estate is known for producing naturally lower alcohol wines through careful site selection. Of medium intensity and easy on the palate, this rosé sports a strawberry overtone with a smattering of aniseed and citrus. Definitely one to enjoy on its own. Priced at RRP £12.99.

Lobster Shack Rosé 2025, South Africa, 12.0 abv %

This is a limited edition wine from South Africa’s Western Cape. Here, a touch of Pinotage has been added to white Sauvignon grapes for juiciness and colour. Expect a deep pink hue followed by summer red berries on the palate.  We recommend pairing with red and white seafood.  RRP 12.99

Muses Estate Greek Rosé 2024, Greece, abv 12.5%

Beautifully packaged, this warm and fragrant number hails from a one thousand year old family estate in the Valley of the Muses on Mount Helicon near Athens. Here peppery Syrah is blended with the lemon fresh Roditis Alepou grape, which lends its pink skin to the wine’s orange tinge. We found a palate full of mouthwatering red and pink berries that pairs easily with light fish dishes. Priced at RRP £14.99

Ramon Bilbao Rosé 2025, Spain, abv 12.0 %

https://www.coop.co.uk/products/ramon-bilbao-rioja-rosado-825696

Winemaker Rosana Lisa is behind this wine now in its second year and enjoying a bottle revamp. Here 80% Garnacha and 20% Viura grapes were selected from high altitude vineyards across the foothills of the Sierra de la Demanda mountain range. The result is a wine slightly cooler in intensity on the palate than a red Rioja and with the rose, melon and red fruit flavours that reflects summer pink. Drink on its own or with pasta dishes. RRP £9.50

Chocolate!

Rosé wines also pair well with chocolate. A fan of dark chocolate the author shows here a bar with raspberry pieces, and another with almond and orange. Both are flavourful and available from Lidl’s luxury J D Gross range. J D Gross chocolates range from 56% to 90% cocoa.
