Be inspired by cosmetics again with Makeup Atelier Paris

I don’t know about you but with the plethora of cosmetic launches and drugstore brands out there I get a bit bored with cosmetics.  MAC and NARS still excite me and I enthuse about getting my hands on certain products but most of the other brands out there I feel a bit “meh” over.

Enter Makeup Atelier.  I first heard of them on the gorgeous Wayne Goss’ Youtube channel and was determined to find out more.  First impressions were that they are a little hard to track down – only available on certain websites or their own online store.

So why is it worth tracking down?  Well Makeup Atelier is a professional makup artists brand – known and loved by the top MUA’s worldwide and the formulations are of such a superior quality that a tiny little goes a very long way.  The pigmentation is outstanding, the colour range is superb and goes across ALL skin tones and the longevity of the product makes it ideal for commercial use.

We were thrilled to get our hands on a few bits and pieces from their range to review.   This is where the sensible girl spends her makeup money as you can get everything you need from the range that will last you a very, very long time.

Firstly we have the Airbrush HD Blush in Saumon (Salmon)

This product is insanely pigmented and a dab is just about enough, you barely even need to use the pump as even the tiniest dot from the pump covers your entire hand.  The most gentle movement of the pump is all that is required to cover both cheeks but I would dose it on the back of your hand to start with and pick up what you need, lay it down then decide if you need more.  The colour definition is intense, beautiful and rich and I can see this entire bottle lasting me many years.  I can see why makeup artists would love it as the value for money is amazing for the quality of the product.  There is 15mls of product in the pump for £14 which is 20% cheaper than MAC and won’t dry out or crumble.  There are 11 shades in the blush range including a nude and a pinkey beige if you think the Salmon is a bit too bright.

Eyeshadow Palettes – £25 for 5 complimentary shadows (1.5g each)

The palette we tried was T19 – Bois de Rose (translated as Rosewood)- best described as warm reddy/rosey browns with peachy base colour.  These shadows are created with silicones and fatty acids which make them glide onto the skin with a creamy, buttery consistency.  They are a great pleasure to use and the application is so smooth you barely even feel like you are applying anything!  The pigmentation again is excellent, even in the lighter base colours (which I often feel let down by with other brand’s palettes)

If Rosewood isn’t quite your colour, there are 23 other palettes to choose from as well as a 24 pan empty palette for you to fill at your leisure!

Lipstick in Petal

Beautiful creamy lipstick contains 2% jojoba oil to create a hydrated and colourful lip.  Nude shades are wearable, bright colours are well pigmented – a smooth lipstick, Petal is quite pearlescent but a really pretty pinky/coral colour.
