Betrousse Box March 2013

Another Betrousse Box arrived at my door the other day – I really like these boxes as it’s decent sized samples of French skincare – unknown in the UK and a chance to try things you would never see on the shelf.  The Christmas one was a bit of a disappointment as it had the 75p crackle polish in it for the 2nd box running and a small sheet of tattoos amongst the other items.  Now don’t know about you but anyone over the age of 17 shouldn’t be wearing stick on tattoos.

So what’s in this one?

Fair Naturally Mango & Safflower Body Moisturiser.  Before you even use this, your conscious is set at ease by the fact it contains fairtrade ingredients such as mango extract, cane sugar and almond oil.  It smells fantastic and absorbs fairly quickly.  It feels quite indulgent like a body butter but it’s nowhere near as thick.  Love this product and it’s going on my lotions shelf to use after showering.  Will also keep my eyes peeled for anything else from the brand as the quality and ethics are excellent.

Tulecos Tonifying Oil.  With organic peppermint oil.  Apparently this is for use on your feet and it’s super absorbent – we were astonished at how quickly it soaked in.  I think this is important for feet as there’s nothing worse than having oily residue on your feet – you can’t move or do anything for ages.  It has a very soft, rich peppermint fragrance and would be an excellent pampering product.  I wouldn’t go out and purchase this for myself but now I have it I will definitely use it.

Make Believe Enhance Shimmer Lip Gloss.  Lovely gloss, nice hint of shimmer – not too pink so great for use over nudes or on its own.  I’d buy a lip gloss this colour for sure so it’s ideal for me and it will get plenty of use.

Benta Berry Exfoliating Cleanser.  I’m really confused by this product as it states it’s for “boys and girls” so that would leave me to assume it was for young and teenage skin.  Although it seems like the actual product itself is suitable for generally oily and combination skins too.  I’m going to try it out.

Jason Rosewater and Chamomile Shampoo.  Jason makes totally organic shampoos free from nasties and artificial fragraces.   The fragrance is very soft and pretty and the shampoo takes a bit of getting used to as they don’t use the lathering ingredient – it feels like more of a gel but once you get used to working it in – it is just as effective.

The Glitz and Glamour box is available here for the bargain price of £10!
