Haunting Halloween Laithwaites Wines 2026
For Halloween we ramped up the chill with a trio of ghoulish gurgles, courtesy of Laithwaites Wines.
Rex Mundi Shiraz Grenache 2025, France, 13% abv
https://www.laithwaites.co.uk/product/rex-mundi-shiraz-grenache-2025/1419125
This winged ghoul is a velvety-on-the palate wine with a dramatic red hue. Found within was a devilish blend of spices, lip-staining shiraz and raspberry grenache from the crypts of southern France. For pairing with red meats if you must, but be careful, this weighty wine may catapult you to a dark dimension. RRP £13.99.
Von Buhl Bone Dry Riesling 2024, Germany, 12% abv
https://www.laithwaites.co.uk/product/von-buhl-bone-dry-riesling-2024/4540824
A white from one of Germany’s oldest and finest wine estates. With its enticing glow-in-the-dark label, this Riesling offers a palate of tangy yet unsettling orchard and stone fruits with a notable flinty finish. Pale gold in colour, this wine is for drinking on its own, by candlelight, for maximum theatrical effect. RRP £17.00.
Von Buhl Zero Secco Alcohol-Free NV, Germany, 0.5% abv
https://www.laithwaites.co.uk/product/von-buhl-zero-secco-alcohol-free-nv/4541125
Masquerading behind a shiny skull motif and ghostly white packaging is our alcohol free contender. This is a white, blended fizz from Germany’s historic Reichsrat Von Buhl winery presenting as a lively, near dry palate of mild grapefruit, floral undertones and a hint of mineral finish. Despite its eerie appearance, we think the zero percent alcohol ensures protection from the spirit realm. RRP £17.00, now £8.99.
