Macadamia Hair vs Moroccanoil – The hair-oil off

By  |  1 Comment

Well actually what I wanted to focus on were the flanker products.  Hair oil has been very well covered – personally I rarely use it as my hair is kind oily at the roots but will occasionally need a little oil at the ends.  But I can imagine for certain hair types this is a god-send.  What I do benefit from though – is a good shampoo/conditioner and treatment.

So what are the flanker products?

Macadamia Hair do;

The shampoo has a lovely consistency, it’s quite thick and nourishing without lathering too much and the Deep Repair Masque leaves hair smooth and shiny.

Moroccanoil also features their oil as a “light for blonde or fine hair” version.  Also in the range is;

  • Curl Defining Cream
  • Curl Control Mousse
  • Hydrating Styling Cream
  • Intense Curl Cream
  • Glimmer Shine Spray
  • Luminous Hair Spray
  • Intense Hydrating Mask
  • Restorative Hair Mask
  • Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Extra Volume Shampoo and Conditioner
  • A range of ceramic brushes.

We tried the shampoo and conditioner of this range and it too created nice smooth hair with a rich application.

Both these brands are of similar quality – I get the feeling that generally the products are aimed at those with curly or coarse hair and those with fine hair can “use it too” but I think the amount those of us with fine hair would use, we would get fantastic value for money as it would only be used sparingly.

Therefore the flankers work well for any hair type- those with thick or coarse looking for extra products to use alongside the hair treatment oil but also for those of us with fine hair who maybe find the oil a little rich but the shampoo/conditioner or mask with the oil as an ingredient is just about right.

Ingredients wise, Macadamia Hair tops as it contains oil from the macadamia nut which has an unique composition giving it an uncanny similarity and compatibility to your body’s own natural oils and allows for unbelievable absorption and rapid penetration into the hair and skin.

So there you have it – a lot more science and hair loving oils in these shampoos, masks and conditioners than in your bog standard high street formula.  Are you “worth it?”

    i have tried both of these products but for me personally i like the macadamia although they are similar in many ways i brought the travel kit for the macadamia and it worked so well it made my hair feel so so soft and shiny and i use straighteners and have found my hair has become a little brittle but this set helped me so much 🙂 i would recommend it to anyone who has damaged hair which needs so special care it comes with masque and shampoo ect the morrocan oil is just as good but a little more expensive from what i can see.
