Fab makeup finds for AW 2012
A few handpicked favourites to create some fabulous AW Looks this year.
NewCID i-Gel
An amazing product, was quite excited about this. Comes with a handy little angle edged brush designed for the perfect application. In this little round pot you get three beautiful gel based eyeliners in different shades. I picked the Bronze, Copper and Stone as I love browns, light or dark so I can create daytime looks with the Bronze or darker evening looks with the Stone/Copper. These are pretty hard to budge – I had the swatches on my hand and it didn’t move even doing the dishes and a good rub with the finger didn’t move it either. But a good micellaire water took it off or an oil based eye makeup remover. Other shades are grey based or a trio of jewelled shades such as Emerald, Indigo and Blue. I’d say this was a cult product in the making and a must have for any girl who likes her eyeliner! NewCID i-Gel is £21.50
Dr Hauschka Eyeshadow Compact
This is the holy grail of brown palettes. Every shade is absolutely perfect, no shimmery nonsense – just simple, perfect eyeshadow shades in a very handbag friendly compact. Lovely big, clear mirror and the large shape of the shadow pans makes it easy to get a good swirl on your brush. If you like browns – this is a must have. I found it on BigGreenSmile – a natural retailer that has just been awarded Best Online Retailer by Janey Lee Grace. £31.95
Ardell Double Up Lashes
One set not thick enough? Want MEGA lashes? Ardell, America’s leading lash brand have produced a “double lash” with a full and flare effect – perfect for the coming party season!
Cosmetics a la Carte Brow Ink
Rather than you ending up pencilling the skin through your brows with a traditional pencil – this brow ink works to colour the brow hairs themselves, giving it a more natural, tinted look. Very easy to apply, good staying power and classy packaging. A really handy tool for between your HD Brows appointments! Great for giving your brows a slightly darker but temporary tint.
