Inika – the perfect marriage of beauty and beliefs

The only cosmetics brand that is certified Halal, 100% vegan or using 75-95% organic ingredients AND 100% cruelty free – Inika is leading the way in natural and organic beauty.  They note on their website that Half of the INIKA product range is Certified Organic, the other half comprises of 100% pure mineral makeup. All INIKA products are Vegan, Certified Halal and Certified Cruelty Free.

Although Inika means “small earth” in Hindi and is Halal – this doesn’t mean it’s aimed at Middle Eastern or Asian skintones.  However if you have those darker skintones you will be delighted at the range of stunning colours and spectrum of foundation.

If you are just looking to use an ethically sound beauty company regardless of pale porcelain, olive tones or black skin – then Inika is a fantastic choice and has everything you need for your makeup kit – it’s super sleek and stylish packaging will look great.  Their website also features a fab “How to” guide to create some daytime or sexy night-time eye looks.

I love the colours of their mineral eyeshadows and their “touche” blusher product is very similar to some of the high-end department store brands such as YSL Touche Blush.

We tried the following eyeshadows;

“Eternal Marine” which is a gorgeous shade of green, changes in different lights, has a khaki effect in low light, brighter green in natural light.  Slightly sparkly and has a nice warmth to it which would flatter most skin tones.

“Platinum” is like fairy dust – it’s so pretty – with a sheer application it just makes everything sparkle a little – with a sponge applicator you can start to build up the white-ish-ness of the powder itself.  Can be used with any kind of eye make up to get a special fairy wings glitter!

and “Coco Motion” which is a rich, chocolatey brown, soft and warm.

as well as the “Rosy Glow” blush puff pot.  This is a nice gentle tone, suitable for many skin types although it does have a slight shimmer to it.  The puff applicator takes a little getting used to so might be worth practising before you go to avoid any makeup disasters.
